How to install Tone2 products on PC
After ordering a product from us you'll receive an email with download links, after downloading your product you'll have a ZIP file.
Unpack the zip file to a temporary folder, doubleclick on the installer icon and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
If need further information about installing plugins please take a look at the handbook of your host software.
How to activate Tone2 products
Together with the download links from Shareit / Bestservice you received a keyfile (productname.t2k) attached to the product delivery email. This keyfile contains your name & serial number and is used to unlock the full version. Below you'll find both automatic and manual authorization procedures, follow the steps in either of these to authorize your product.
Please note that our demo versions can not be unlocked, you have to install the full version.
Known problems & Solutions
The plugin does not appear in my PC host software
Solution: Please check if you installed the plugin to the correct VST directory and if this folder is scanned by your host. Sometimes you need to do a plugin rescan in your host software after the installation. Please take a look at your host software's handbook if you need further help.
The plugin does not unlock and keeps asking for my keyfile.
Solution: Buy original software ;-)
The plugin keeps running in demo mode / the display reads demo.
Solution: Our demo versions can not be be unlocked, so be sure to install the full version. You can download it here
The plugin does not output sound?
Solution: Your keyfile is corrupt. Delete it.
The plugin crashes
Solution1: Update the plugin. You can download the latest version here.
Solution2: Your keyfile is corrupt. Delete it.
The plugin crashes on Win8/Win10.
Solution: Some older versions need to be patched to run with Windows8. You can download the latest version here.
Host - Plugin specific
I hear glitches & crackles when I use the plugin in Fruity Loops Studio.
Solution: Open the Fruity Wrapper Setting menu (the gear shaped icon on the top left of the plugin) and change the following setting on the Processing tab: Use fixed sized buffers <> Enable.
Note that it's also recommended to disable "Allow Threaded Processing" for better plugin handling.
Gladiator plugin reports that some file (like mf2, t2k, glb, gls, ...) is missing.
Solution: Your installation is corrupt. Reinstall the plugin and make sure the Gladiator2_data folder is found inside the same folder as the Gladiator DLL
The first note in a song is not played back in Fruity Loops.
Answer: This is a known problem in Fruity loops and affects many other plugins.
Solution: Open Fruity loops, Go to audio settings, change "Reset plugins on transport"
I get graphic errors when I resize the plugin interface / I can't see the plugin's GUI or I can only see parts the plugin's GUI.
Host: Sonar 5, Sonar 6, SaviHost, Novation Automap and various others.
Plugins: A large number of VST plugins that have a resizeable GUI
Answer: The graphic resizing routines of your host software is buggy. Please install the latest host version or refer to the host's company for a bugfix. Restarting the plugin sometimes solves the problem.
I get higher CPU load when i switch through patches during playback.
Answer: This is technically necessary to reset reverb/delay buffers on patch changes.
The host crashes when I quickly switch through presets.
Solution: Install the latest soundcard drivers and increase the latency settings of your soundcard. Reduce the CPU load
The effect plugin does not respond to my Midi data.
Answer: Not all hosts are able to send midi data to effect plugins. You can also use automation instead of midi. Check your host configuration.
Not all automation parameters are shown in Ableton.
Answer: Ableton 6 can only handle 128 parameters for Automation. Please refer to Ableton for a bugfix or update Live to a more recent version.
Reaper's preset browser of does not list all sounds of Gladiator.
Answer: The problem is caused by a bug in the preset browser of Reaper. It cuts off the list if a blank preset name was used. Update Reaper to a more recent version or use Gladiator's own preset browser.
I get clicks and audio dropouts.
Solution1: Increase the latency of your soundcard
Solution2: You caused a CPU overload. Reduce the number of plugins within your songs.
Solution3: Reduce the quality setting and number of voices.
Solution4: Reduce the sample rate setting of your host software to 48 kHz or lower.
Solution5: Reduce the rendering quality setting of the plugin. Use medium or lower.
Solution6: Buy a faster CPU and faster RAM modules.
Solution7: Avoid long release times within the plugin.
The plugin uses too much CPU.
Solution1: Reduce the sample rate setting of your host software to 48 kHz or lower.
Solution2: Reduce the number of voices within the plugin.
Solution3: Reduce the rendering quality setting of the plugin. Use medium or lower.
Solution4: Bypass effect modules like the reverb within the plugin.
Solution5: Buy a faster CPU and faster RAM modules.
Solution6: Avoid using long envelope release times within the plugin.
I get a bluescreen.
Solution: A bluescreen is a critical error caused by the operating system and not our software.
Bluescreens can be caused by driver problems, faulty hardware (overheated processor, damaged RAM module), a currupt operating system and trojans. We recommend that you backup all important data and refer to a computer expert.
Product installation (automatic)
1. Exit your host program (eg. Cubase,...).
2. Install the full version of the plugin: Note: the demo versions can not be unlocked.
3. Open your host program.
4. Do a plugin rescan in the host if it does not list the plugin you just installed. Detailed instructions on how to perform a rescan can be found in your host's manual
5. Insert the plugin.
6. Left-click in the "Click here to activate the product" screen.
7. Browse-to and select the keyfile (e,g, Icarus.t2k) you received from us to activate the full version.
8. Restart the plugin. Note that some hosts programs may require a complete restart for the plugin to function correctly.
Product installation (manual)
1. Exit your host program.
2. Install the full version of the plugin. Note: the demo versions can not be unlocked.
3. Copy your plugin keyfile (e.g. Saurus.t2k, Icarus.t2k) to the same folder as the plugin's DLL file (the VST plugins directory).
4. Open your host program.
5. Insert the plugin.
